An annual P&L chart plots (usually as columns) annual revenues, COGS, expenses, and EBITDA. It thus enables you to quickly see visually how the company is doing financially. Some people prefer to show this to investors and lenders rather than a table of numbers due to its visual impact.  Here is an example of what the chart looks like:
