How do I relate raw materials to products I sell?

In the menu, select assumptions/costs/cost of goods sold. Select the Raw Materials by Product tab [Note: If that tab does not appear, select the Product by Raw Materials tab and then select the blue View Raw Materials by Product button at the bottom of the page]. On this page, you will tell Offtoa which raw materials will be used for each of the products (listed on the page in bold type) you sell to your customers.

Let's start with your first product (it will be the first item in bold on the page). To the right of the product name, press the blue Select button. This will display a list of all the raw materials that you have thus far defined. Use the check boxes to indicate which of these raw materials will be used for this product. Press the blue Confirm button to return to the previous screen. Now you will see those raw materials listed below the product. To the right of each of those raw materials, click on the percentage entry to indicate what percentage of the quantity of that purchased raw material you will consume for one of these products. For example, the raw material is “1 gallon” of paint, and you need 20% of the gallon to coat the product, enter 20%. If the raw material is a “carton of 100” candy bars and you are selling a single candy bar to the customer, enter 1%.

Now repeat this for your second and subsequent products.
