Can I pay off a loan with an investment round?
Very few investors will allow this. They want their money used to help the company achieve major business milestones, to grow, to succeed. They don't want it used to pay off somebody else's loan. The only exception would be when an investor provides a bridge loan to a company with the intent of converting that bridge loan into equity. See related questions below concerning convertible loans.
