Revenue Assumptions

This is the area of Offtoa where you can state all your business assumptions about how your company is going to make revenue. It includes assumptions about:

  • What products (or services) you plan to sell to customers.
  • The markets to which you plan to sell the above products.
  • Prices you will receive from customer.
  • Number of units you expect to sell.


In the last two cases (prices and units), you will probably make your best guesses at this point. Or you might do some research or run some experiments to learn what values might work. At this point, you are trying to determine if you have a viable company, so enter the best numbers that you have. As you progress and learn more, replace these guesses with more and more accurate numbers, and return here regularly to see if your company is still viable.
